Level One CrossFit Coach
I spent the first 28 years of my life as a South Floridian. I studied Elementary Education at Florida State University and School Counseling at Florida Atlantic University. I’ve gone from being a young ballerina, to a high school cheerleader, to a marathon runner. When I had experienced all that I could in Florida, I decided to make a change. I ended up in Baltimore and, along with all of the riches this change has brought me, I began doing CrossFit. What started as trying out a class or two with my roommate, turned into becoming a coach and making it a lifestyle.
CrossFit is the first form of exercise that I’ve ever looked forward to ahead of time, loved while I was doing it, and talked about afterwards. It has put me in the best shape of my life and given me the self-confidence that most have a hard time finding. As a coach, it is my goal to help others achieve this same level of accomplishment. I believe that one of CrossFit’s greatest attributes is that it allows all people of different ages, shapes, genders, and abilities to accomplish their personal best. Even though one athlete may not be throwing up the same weight as the athlete standing next to them, everyone is working to their best ability. One person’s PR is not going to be the same as another
person’s PR; but we all still get to celebrate being the best we can be.
For those of you that have never done CrossFit, are scared, intimidated, don’t think you’re in good
enough shape, whatever it is that is holding you back, all I can say is ‘give it a shot.’ Each and every
athlete at our gym came in scared and intimidated and no one is ever in ‘good enough shape.’ That’s why you should try it out. Trust the coaches. The programming. And, most importantly, trust yourself. You never know, you may just make some great friends along the way!
